Team Dynamics in Cave Diving:
Team Participation is Requested for Groundbreaking Research
Gainesville, FL. Researchers from the University of Florida are sponsoring a groundbreaking research study for the underwater cave diving community. Your participation is requested for a never-before-done study on underwater diving team dynamics and its effects on the success of underwater explorations.
Your participation in this research will enhance your awareness of team characteristics and processes that influence the enjoyment, safety, and overall effectiveness of your underwater dives. Your participation will also make you an integral part of the ongoing efforts to build important ties between underwater enthusiasts, explorers, conservationists, and scientific researchers. The findings from this study can expand your underwater awareness, add to your diving capabilities, and help promote the continuation of underwater cave diving as a safe, enjoyable, and meaningful sport.
Participating in this research will have a significant impact, will be reasonably fast, hassle free, and completely free of charge. You will fill out two surveys—first a brief online survey at your convenience and then a short paper survey on site after your team completes a dive. Your responses to these surveys will be kept completely confidential. As an incentive, after each dive, if the majority of your dive team completes the on-site survey, each participating member will receive a $5 Amazon.com e-gift certificate. You may receive this gift multiple times.
Please join in this important effort to understand the intricate nature of underwater team interactions and its impact on the success, effectiveness, and safety of underwater cave dives and explorations. If you are interested in participating, you may begin immediately by completing the initial online survey at the link listed below. Completion of this survey should take about 15 minutes.
